ENSEMBLE MEMBER IN EMPEROR OF THE MOON (PLAY PRODUCTION)

MAY 17 - JUNE 3

(THINKING CAP THEATRE) IN BROWARD COUNTY

DIRECTED BY NICOLE STODARD

The Emperor of the Moon is a Restoration farce written by Aphra Behn in 1687, based on Italian commedia dell'arte. It was Behn's second most successful play (after The Rover), probably due to the lightness of the plot and its accompanying musical and spectacular entertainment. The music is largely lost today. However, in Thinking Cap’s production, the music is a mix of classical music and modern songs about the moon. Valdes plays the violin, guitar, ukulele and sings in this production as well as the role of the clerk.

The critically acclaimed production was Carbonell Award recommended on its opening weekend in May.
